Bad shoulders or elbows: what changes helped you stay in archery?

Shoulder or elbow trouble can change everything from draw weight to form and practice schedule. Traditional shooters often talk about it, but compound shooters can deal with it too. Did yours come from years of shooting, drawing or holding weight, a separate injury, arthritis, surgery or a joint replacement? Does it affect your bow arm, drawing arm or both? Do you actively work on it—with professional guidance, mobility or strength work, lighter limbs, more let-off, grip or form changes, or shorter sessions—or do you mostly try to shoot through it? What helped, what made it worse, and what warning signs make you stop? Please share personal experience rather than medical instructions. New or worsening pain deserves guidance from a qualified clinician or physical therapist who understands your situation.
