Holy Cross/New Orleans Archery Club is open to anyone with an interest in archery - we have welcomed participants from 9 to 79 years old! If you're interested, come try it out! On your first visit, our US Archery certified coaches will give you a short range safety course and teach you the basics of archery technique and form. Check our Facebook page on Saturday to be sure we’ll be holding practice that Sunday, as we sometimes have to cancel due to weather. We usually hold one session from 8am to 10am (and occasionally a second session from 10-noon.) We practice at the University of Holy Cross on General DeGaulle Drive. Archers under age 18 must have a parent present. Crossbows, compound bows with a draw weight above 60 lbs, and broadhead arrows are prohibited, as they cause too much damage to our foam targets. If you’re new to archery, we recommend you not purchase any equipment at least until you’ve shot for a few sessions. We have plenty of equipment available, so you can get a feel for the sport and decide what style you like before investing in a bow. There is a 25$ orientation fee the first visit, and then $10 per session thereafter, payable by cash or Venmo.
