1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how BowStrike ("BowStrike," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the BowStrike platform at bowstrike.com (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this Policy. We aim to collect only what we need to run the Service and to be clear about it.

2. Information We Collect

Category	Examples
Account information	Name, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash).
Archer profile	Date of birth and gender (used to determine eligible age and category classes), governing body/association, and other profile details you choose to add.
Organization information	Club, shop, or range name, type, location, website, and description, for organizers who create an organization profile.
Competition & activity data	Registrations, category and lane assignments, scores and results, private front-desk range visits and saved range-archer records, class enrollments and attendance, club memberships, dues status, and volunteer hours.
Range compliance records	The waiver version shown, confirmation that it was read, the name typed or written by the signer, electronic acknowledgement and/or paper-receipt time, safety-briefing version and completion time, and the staff account that recorded each action.
Event-official qualifications	Judge profile details you choose to publish to an organizer; privately submitted NFAA membership, credential level, credential number and expiration; BowStrike assessment attempts, answers, score, responsible-person attestation, qualification status, and accepted event assignments.
Content you submit	Event listings, sponsor logos, blurbs, support messages, product-release announcements and images, staff profiles, direct messages, and (where offered) forum and marketplace posts. A guest product-release submission also includes the brand, authorized contact name and email, consent record, and IP address used for abuse prevention and editorial follow-up.
Payment information	Handled by Stripe or PayPal. We receive limited records such as processor, amounts, dates, and status. We do not receive or store full card numbers or bank credentials.
Technical data	IP address, device/browser information, log data generated when you use the Service, your most recent successful sign-in, and account-activity reminder or reinstatement timestamps.

3. How We Use Information

To provide the Service — create your account, run competitions, display leaderboards and results, manage range lanes, classes, clubs, memberships, and payments;
To maintain a private archery history. A range may create a provisional BowStrike archer record for a visitor without creating a login account and may send an invitation to the email the visitor provides. Range staff can manage only their own range relationship and compliance records; they cannot create or control the archer’s password, login, personal profile, or activity elsewhere on BowStrike. The history is linked automatically only after an account with the same name and email is verified; once linked, that archer can see the associated visits in My Record.
To support family archers. A verified account holder may create a private profile for a child under 18 after confirming they are the parent or legal guardian. The guardian separately chooses whether signed-in range staff who already possess and enter the guardian’s complete account email may see that child’s name as a possible match. BowStrike does not support partial-email family lookup.
To determine eligibility and category placement (which is why we ask date of birth and gender);
To review event-official credentials, grade the BowStrike Event Official Assessment, prevent repeat-attempt abuse, and determine whether an optional BowStrike Ranked event meets its qualification requirement;
To determine whether your BowStrike membership is active and send final-month activity reminders, an inactivity notice, and reinstatement messages;
To send transactional email — verification, password resets, booking confirmations, user-requested event reminders, and organizer notifications — through our email provider;
To review submitted content for spam, fraud, and policy violations, using automated checks (including an automated content-review service) and human review;
To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with law;
To improve and support the Service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Publicly, by design. Some information is meant to be seen: your name may appear on event leaderboards and public results; organization profiles and event listings appear in public directories. If you opt into Find Archery Staff, your name, general city/state, roles, availability, professional summary, and self-reported qualifications appear publicly; your account email, phone number, street address, and social accounts do not. An approved product release may publicly show the submitted brand, title, write-up, product link, and image; the private submitter contact name, email, consent record, and IP address are not published unless you separately include contact information in the public write-up. A season-long BowStrike National Rankings entry is separate and optional. When you opt in, your name, club, category, scores, event finishes, and ranking points may appear publicly. You can revoke that ranking choice without withdrawing from the event. For a minor, we privately record the approving parent or legal guardian's name and attestation; the guardian name is never part of the public ranking. We retain a private consent-change history for accountability.
Member messages and safety reports. Direct messages are visible to the participating accounts. If a recipient reports unwanted contact, BowStrike administrators may review the reported message and reason to enforce our rules. Blocking stops messages in both directions; staff-directory contact details are never supplied to the sender.
With organizers. When you register for an event, join a class, or hold a club membership, the relevant organizer or club can see the information needed to run it (such as your name, email, category, scores, and payment/dues status). When range staff save or check in an archer, that range's authorized staff can see the archer's entered name, optional email, lane and visit timing, plus that range's waiver and safety-briefing status. BowStrike may connect that private visit history to the archer's verified account using the exact name-and-email rule described above. These range and identity records are not public.
Event-official status. An organizer who asks you to serve as the qualified official can see your name, whether BowStrike independently reviewed a current NFAA-issued credential claim or you hold an owner-only BowStrike assessment qualification, its applicable expiration, and whether you accepted the assignment. Credential and member numbers, assessment answers, and admin review notes are not public and are not shown to other organizers.
With service providers who process data on our behalf, under contract, only to run the Service — for example: Stripe and PayPal (payments), our email delivery provider, our hosting/database provider, and an automated content-review provider.
For legal reasons — to comply with law, enforce our Terms, or protect rights and safety.
In a business transfer — if the Service is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction.

5. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe or PayPal, according to the organizer's checkout choice. When you pay dues, entry fees, class fees, or range reservations—or when an organizer connects a payout account—your payment details go directly to the selected processor and are handled under Stripe's Privacy Policy or PayPal's Privacy Statement. BowStrike does not store full payment card details or connected bank credentials and does not hold participant funds; organizer proceeds are paid to the organizer's or club's connected processor account.

6. Cookies and Local Storage

Saved event shortlists are private to your account. Saving an event is separate from registration, team attendance plans and user-requested event reminders. Removing a saved event does not cancel a reminder; manage reminders separately in My Events. Saved events are deleted when your account is deleted.

To understand which BowStrike campaigns help people find us, we keep short source, medium and campaign labels from tagged links in session storage in your browser tab for up to 24 hours. If you create an account during that period, we associate those labels with the account for internal signup and email-verification counts. This does not store advertising click IDs or search terms, and does not send your account details to Google Ads. These labels are deleted with your account. Blocking browser storage does not prevent signup.

We keep the Service light on tracking. We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in (an authentication token) and to remember basic preferences. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Where a cookie or consent choice is presented, we default to the most privacy-protective option.

7. Children's Privacy

Archery is popular with young people, and the Service supports youth programs. Where a minor participates, a parent, legal guardian, or supervising organization (such as a club or coach) is responsible for the minor's account and information and consents to this Policy on the minor's behalf. We collect only the information needed for participation (such as name and date of birth for age category). We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child's information has been provided to us without proper consent, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Data Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, keep records of events and payments, and meet legal obligations. An inactive membership is not a deleted account: your profile, scores, and account history remain stored so the account can be reinstated. You can ask us to delete your account; some records (such as transaction records or content already published to public results) may be retained where we have a legal or legitimate business reason.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Protect your password and notify us of any suspected unauthorized access.

10. Your Rights and Choices

You can review and update most profile information in your account, and you can opt out of BowStrike National Rankings separately from your event registration. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA). We do not sell personal information. To exercise a right, contact us using the details below; we may need to verify your identity before acting.

11. International Users

The Service is operated in the United States and information is processed there. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., which may have different data-protection laws than your country.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide reasonable notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
